Welsh crowds set to return for Six Nations

Crowds are set to return in from January 21st after the Welsh government announced an easing of coronavirus restrictions.

All Welsh sporting events have been held behind closed doors since Boxing Day.

The lifting of restrictions means fans are able to attend Wales' first home match against in on February 12.

The WRU had explored the option of staging home games in in a bid to generate some income. Last week, the The Rugby Paper exclusively announced that the WRU deemed Twickenham as ‘too costly'.

Luckily for the WRU, the team and the supporters, Wales will be allowed to play their home Six Nations fixtures with a capacity crowd of 74,500.

All proffessional sport has been played behind closed doors since Boxing Day, while English professional sports were allowed to welcome supporters to their matches.

This week, the Scottish government announced that they would allow spectators at outdoor event from Monday 17th January – meaning Scotland can play their home Six Nations matches with a full-capacity crowd.
