JOHN Mitchell was proud of England’s ability to problem-solve under pressure after his Red Roses transformed a rare half-time deficit into a crushing victory over Australia – but warned standards must rise for Canada.
England struggled for fluency during a static opening 40 minutes before exploding into life after the break, scoring 43 points as Mitchell’s powerful bench helped turn the contest on its head with a 48-15 triumph in Salford.
