Room 101

Room 101: Michael Heaney – Doncaster scrum-half

Michael Heaney1. Being ticklish
I’m generally ticklish all over but it’s my feet that are the most sensitive. I find it hard not to kick out if anyone goes near them, which isn’t overly helpful when you’re recovering from an ankle injury. My fiancée tickles them on purpose because she knows it winds me up.
TRP verdict: You’ll be tickled pink when you find out this is going into .
2. Cooking
I’d give myself 10 out of 10 for effort in the cooking stakes but the end result normally leaves a lot to be desired. So I generally stick to what I know – something simple like chicken and pasta with sauce from a jar. My fiancée is a really good cook so I’m looking forward to next week when she comes over from for a couple of months. Hopefully I’ll get a few good meals inside me.
TRP verdict: Sorry we found this one too hard to stomach.
3. Injuries
I know injuries are part and parcel of being a professional sportsman but the down-time never gets any easier to take. After all, we are paid to play not to be sat on the sidelines. I’m not a great watcher of games; I get wound up quite easily. I’ve got about 2-3 weeks before I return to full fitness after rolling my ankle a few weeks ago, and the day I get to run out on the pitch again can’t come soon enough.
TRP verdict: How can we knock that? You’re in again.
