SALE won at The Rec for the first time since March 2014 as Bath lost at home for a record sixth time in a Premiership season.
Sale triumphed despite adding to their disastrous disciplinary record. They collected another three yellow cards to leave them one short of the Premiership record for most yellows in a season. Sale’s tally is now 21 with Leicester next worst on 15.
Missing a number of scoring chances also didn’t help. First they splintered at a driving maul when looking certain to score. Jean-Luc du Preez then lost the ball over the line, and AJ MacGinty missed three kicks.
