OLLIE Thorley, the highly-watchable Gloucester wing, will be on a watching brief himself for the next month following the latest sitting of rugby’s court of assizes.
A four-match ban for being involved in a clash of heads is a pretty harsh sentence, as sentences always are when systems part company with natural justice, but Thorley is saddled with it. He will now miss his club’s Champions Cup knock-out tie with La Rochelle, as well as three Premiership fixtures.
