England opened their campaign with a 28-19 victory over Kenya. They led 14-5 at the break through two Dan Norton tries, while Collins Injera replied for Kenya.

Further scores from Alex Davis and Ollie Lindsay- Hague sealed victory for Simon Amor's side with Kenya responding via William Ambaka Ndayara as well as Nelson Oyoo.

In their second pool match smart play from Dan Bibby allowed Davis to snipe through for their first try against the USA.

Lindsay-Hague had a fine minute – having produced a try-saving tackle at one end of the field, he was then on hand to dot down at the other end for 14-0.

Norton ran in a superb individual try to open the scoring for England against France, with 20- year-old Charlton Kerr flying through for a second.
