Leicester Tigers send head of recruitment shopping for players in Australia

Tigers already have an eye on the 2020-21 season and are targeting some Wallabies

Australia

LEICESTER look set to spend some Aussie dollars in a bid to improve their squad ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Blindside understands that Jan McGinity, who joined the Tigers earlier in the summer as their head of elite performance recruitment, has been Down Under.

We have been told that the former players’ agent has been seeking meetings with the agents of a number of Wallaby stars to see who is interested in a move.

London Irish have recruited heavily in the Australian market this season but players do come with a hefty wage tag.

Adam Coleman from the Melbourne Rebels, as well as the NSW Waratahs trio Sekope Kepu, Curtis Rona and Nick Phipps, will all play for the Exiles this season.

McGinity has been quick to make the trip as he seeks to improve recruitment, an area where Tigers have been weak in recent seasons.
