World Cup ticket touts face jail time in Japan

UNDER new Japanese laws aimed at clamping down on ticket touts, those caught selling tickets for profit can face prison time and also could be slapped with a fine as high as £7,300 (or ¥1m).
The legislation, which came into effect on June 8, means that fans selling unwanted tickets are urged to do so legally through the tournament’s official resale service at face value price.
