Luctonians…………..25 Camborne……………. 17
IF in life you are looking for heroes, then this performance by the home side was nothing short of heroic, defending superbly in the last 10 minutes in their own red zone to deny Camborne any points for all their extensive efforts, to leave the title race wide open.
With Camborne still to play closest contenders Clifton, it keeps the league title on a knife edge for a few more weeks yet.
Camborne, unbeaten in 10 games, came looking to run over the home side with their swiftness and speed of hand, but were met by superb defiance by the home side
Luctonians were soon behind to a Ben Priddey converted try.
Lucs responded with two Owen Randell penalties, but Camborne hit back with Priddey’s second try.
The home side then showed their spirit as Owien Harriot-Davis dotted down to make it 11-14, before a bit of magic from Lucs captain Ben Link sent Charlie Grimes over.
The home side stretched their lead when Seb Robinson-Hall scrambled over to put the hosts 25-14 ahead at the break. In the second half, Lucs defended their lines as if their lives depended on it, restricting Camborne to just one penalty.
