Oxford H……………….48
Dorking…………………24
AN outstanding performance from Oxford Harlequins helped them in their battle to climb the table and stopped Dorking in their tracks.
The visitors came out of the gates firing, scoring in the first three minutes with a darting effort from Max Coyle, with Craig Holland added the extras. Two more tries from Thomas Howe and Adam Musa followed quickly, and it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon for the home fans.
But Oxford Harlequins roared back. First Harry Davies scored a stunning try, converted by Ross Cooke, before captain Willo Bicknell scored a sensational try on his own.
Even better was to come for the home side when they were awarded a penalty try after a collapsed maul, and two more scores from David Manning Truman and Ewan Fox made it 33-19 at half-time.
The second-half opened with more of the same for Dorking through Bicknell, before Dorking finally responded with a try from Arlo Copp.
But Oxford Harlequins were not finished yet. Ross Cooke landed a late penalty to make the win assured before Bicknell claim his hat-trick score in the 78th minute. Ross Cooke was again successful from the tee.
