BARNES came out on top from a fiercely contested match against visitors Sevenoaks.
On a blustery day at Barn Ems, both sides went at it hammer and tongs.
There was nothing between the teams in the first half although the home side had an early success when Tom Spencer-Jones drove over after five minutes and Tom Wilstead converting to make it 7-0 to Barnes after only six minutes.
Sevenoaks came back hard, though, and scored though winger Tyler Weekes.
With Ben Adam missing the conversion, Barnes held the nattowest of leads at 7-5 at the break.
With the wind behind them, Barnes dominated the second half, and should have closed out several opportunities but had to be content with superstar scrum-half and captain Josh Davies scoring two tries after 50 minutes and 62 minutes to seal the victory.
Wilstead converting one of the tries to make the final score 19-5 to Barnes.
A good perfor mance sets Barnes up for their last two league games of the season, away to Tunbridge Juddians next weeked and then against Esher in the club’s last home game of the season.
