Exeter Chiefs sprung from one off the bottom to runners-up in one of the Premiership’s biggest turnarounds.

The Chiefs were leading Northampton Saints in the final with 15 minutes to go but conceded two tries when lock Dafydd Jenkins was in the sin-bin.
Their opening league match was at Northampton and in the first half it looked as if Exeter were on the same course as the previous season, their worst in the Prem, when only Newcastle Red Bulls finished below them and they conceded 79 points at Gloucester.
