Both Worcester Warriors’ men and University of Worcester Warriors Women will play their respective games this weekend against Exeter and Harlequins, after the RFU ruled they had met a midday deadline to prove their safety credentials.
There had been significant doubts as to whether the game would be able to go ahead once the RFU set their deadline last night.
Though Warriors’ owners agreed a sale on Tuesday, the club are still waiting to finalise a deal with a new investor.
And though questions still remain around that deal, they have managed to obtain a general safety certificate to secure medical provision on the site for the women’s game (on Saturday), and men’s game (on Sunday).
The RFU statement read: “Worcester Warriors has met a midday deadline set by the RFU to provide assurances in relation to the receipt of a General Safety Certificate from the local authority and written confirmation of medical provision.
“Therefore, this weekend’s Gallagher Premiership and Allianz Cup matches will go ahead.
“We recognise this has been a difficult and uncertain time for all of Worcester Warriors players, staff and fans as well as the opposition teams and are pleased that the matter has been resolved.
“The RFU, Premiership Rugby and DCMS will continue to work with Worcester Warriors owners regarding funding and potential new ownership proposals in the coming days.”
