Lancashire woe as Smith’s last-gasp kick goes wide

KENT secured their first Bill Beaumont Men’s County Championship in 96 years with an incredible 39- 37 comeback win over Lancashire, who came up just short in their search for a County double.
The southerners overturned a 27-10 deficit in the second half with Rafael Dutta’s try and subsequent touchline conversion from Sam Evans appearing to have won the match.
Lancashire weren’t done as Rhys Henderson scored late on but Greg Smith’s conversion at the death fell narrowly wide.
