THE top of the table clash went the way of home side Billingham by 34-29, although opponents Heath still hang on at the top as the only unbeaten side in the competition.
Following an early penalty for the visitors from Chris Johnson, the home side surged into a 29-3 lead at the interval through tries from Michael Walton, Joe Roxby, Peter Evans (with two) and Matt Kirby, Roxby also knocking over two conversions.
Connor Foley added a fifth early in the second half, but a resurgent Heath hit back with tries from Joe Morrison, Jason Merrie, Jack Pilcher and Matthew Hallett to claim a bonus point. Johnson was also successful with two more conversions, with a late try from Joe Ross sealing the win.
Driffield lost 25-24 to Cleckheaton, a result that propels the West Yorkshire side up to to fifth in the table.
Alnwick were 40-12 winners at home to Doncaster Phoenix through tries from Pete Moralee, Ben Pettifer, Ali Beckett and James Bird, all four converted by Evan Moir, who also slotted four penalties.
Matt Denham and Josh Fowels crossed for the visitors with Steve Nichols adding a conversion.
Sandal were 33-26 victors away to Scunthorpe, the visitors’ tries coming from Cam Alkin, Joe Allott, Josh Adams and Dom Fawcett, who also kicked two conversions and three penalties. Nick Dyson, James Dyson and Kane Linklater were try scorers for the home side, with Josh Clark successful with one conversion and three penalties.
York beat Ilkley 50-24. Toby Atkin and Tom Wolfenden grabbed a brace apiece, with Willem Enslin, Lewi Jackson, Jony Atkinson and Alex Riley in for one each, Declan Cusack on target with five conversions.
Peter Erskin, Will Addyman and Flores Van De Fleur were try scorers for the visitors, with JH Johnson contributing three penalties.
Perhaps the surprise of the weekend was bottom of the table West Bridgeford’s 28-26 win at home to Paviors. Keon Silvester, Luke Risman and Ajeigbe Oluwasey, with two, were the try scorers, all converted by Ben Dickinson.
Alex Rimington, with two, Keiron Wells and Matt Moleneux crossed for Paviors, with George Billam adding three conversions.
