Scarlets left red-faced after mauling from their old rivals

SWANSEA put their local rivals Llanelli to the sword in an entertaining West derby at St Helen's.

They took the lead after six minutes with a James Davies penalty awarded when the visiting forwards failed to roll away after the tackle.

The Whites extended their advantage when J Rhys Williams took a crash ball near the tryline, before Matthew Aubrey quickly recycled possession to send Sam Kiley over at the corner.

A few minutes later, the Whites added a second touchdown when a Rhys R Williams' finely judged grubber kick was collected by Richard Fussell, who grounded the ball in the corner.

Craig Thomas was shown a yellow card for an off-the-ball kick and the Whites took full advantage with Morgan Morris crashing over from a maul for his side's third try.

Llanelli were on the scoreboard almost straight after the interval when Nathan Hart raced down the wing, with Ryan Conbeer doing the rest.

The powerful home pack secured a bonus point by marching forward at a scrum five.

They forced their counterparts to transgress and left referee Evans with no option but to award a penalty try. And there was still time for the home side to grab a fifth try when Rhodri Wells touched down after his pack drove the Parc Y men off the ball at a scrum.
