Home-grown talent at Bristol Bears? Don’t make me laugh | Jeff Probyn

I COULDN’T help but raise a wry smile reading last week’s Q&A interview with Bristol Bears academy manager Gethin Watts in The Rugby Paper.
It was a great piece but when Gethin laid out the three main pillars (ambitions) of the Lansdown Family and head coach Pat Lam as the Champions Cup, developing England internationals and home-grown players, I had to chuckle.
The Bristol squad is made up of a number of overseas and other Home Unions players or players like Kyle Sinckler who had already made their name in the game (Harlequins) before being drafted into Bristol.
