ELLIE Boatman scored two tries as Richmond battled their way to an impressive victory over .

After failing to score in their opening two matches of the season, Richmond ran in five tries to lift themselves above Worcester and off the foot of the table.

In a tight first-half, Alex Zdunek and Boatman sent the hosts into the break 13- 8 ahead after Akina Gondwe's score had earlier put Worcester in front.

But Richmond ran away with it in the second-half, yellow cards to Elizabeth Shermer and Lyndsay O'Donnell proving costly for the visitors as Grace Moore and Hallie Taufoou went over either side of Boatman's second to seal a bonus-point victory.

In front of strong home support, Jessica Wooden gave Richmond the lead with a penalty in front of the posts after seven minutes, before Vicky Foxwell atoned for an earlier miss to level proceedings.

Gondwe powered over for a try from short range midway through the first half after heavy pressure from the forwards to give the Warriors an 8-3 lead.

Richmond responded well and their first try of the season came through Zdunek who bundled over to level things up, and with a minute until half-time Richmond's backs worked the space outside well for Boatman to go over.

The advantage was extended two minutes into the second-half as Moore broke through the tackle for her side's third try.

Shermer was yellow carded for Worcester for a high tackle after 56 minutes as the visitors' ill-discipline mounted, and Worcester were briefly down to 13 as O'Donnell joined her teammate in the sin bin.

And Richmond took full advantage, Boatman scoring her second before Taufoou added another.
