NEW Zealand began their quest for a seventh U20 world crown with a bonuspoint 45-13 victory in Santa Fe, but were pushed hard for the first half.
Vakhtang Jincharadze crossed the whitewash early in the second half to cut the Kiwi lead to just 19-13. But Georgia’s first ever try against New Zealand at this level woke the giants who ran in four tries in the final half an hour.
A penalty from captain Tedo Abzhandadze gave Georgia an early lead before New Zealand lost Etene Nanai-Seturo to the sin-bin for a high tackle.
