1. Non-social team-mates
It annoys me when lads don’t turn up for social get-togethers especially when they’ve been arranged a good month in advance. Some of the excuses you get are classics. ‘I’ve got to look after my dog’ is one of my personal favourites. At Coventry you get fined £20 for a social no-show – and loads of grief on WhatsApp. We’ve had some good socials since I’ve been here – in Ireland and Jersey in pre-season and, more recently, at Walkabout in Birmingham.
TRP verdict: We raise a glass to your first choice, it’s going in.
2. Far-fetched films
It kind of grinds on me when I sit down to watch a movie and the storyline is totally unbelievable. Mission Impossible is one that springs to mind immediately. The only exception to the rule is Harry Potter films, I quite like those. But, generally speaking, I like to watch something that is based on real life.
TRP verdict: You’ll be made up – like the movies you hate – to hear that you’ve got 2 out of 2.
3. Middle lane drivers
Not an original choice, I know, but it’s definitely one of my pet hates. If you’re in the inside lane and someone is stuck doing 65-70 mph in the middle lane, you have to go all the way around the outside just to overtake them. I sometimes give the guilty person a flash of my lights to remind them that they are holding everyone up.
TRP verdict: You’ll use any lane excuse to get into Room 101, won’t you? Luckily for you, we’ve bought it.
