Mike Phillips will be sacked tomorrow by Bayonne according to reports in France.
The Wales scrum-half was suspended earlier this week after he turned up to a video session drunk on October 11 alongside team mates Dwayne Haare and Stephen Brett.
But while the Kiwi duo are said to have been hit by a hefty fine, Phillips’ days in the Basque country seem to be over as he is expected to receive a dismissal letter on Saturday.
He later used Twitter to send an apologetic message to the Bayonne fans.
He said: “Sorry to all the Bayonne for this situation. My heart will be with the team tomorrow. Good luck.”
A statement from the club is expected tomorrow.
