England are heading in the right direction. Three matches, two wins and one defeat is not a perfect return, but I think the overall picture is encouraging.
The loss against South Africa was disappointing but the performances in the other two Nations Championship games showed genuine progress.
The victory over Argentina was particularly impressive. Argentina are always difficult to play against.
They are physical, abrasive, experienced and capable of making any match uncomfortable, but for large periods England outplayed them.
