It didn’t use to be all about the dosh

LIONS tours used to have a charm of their very own. They would relish visiting towns off the beaten track, players would visit hospitals and schools, not as a chore but in gratitude for the warmth of their welcome.
They ventured to distant places like Greymouth and Timaru in New Zealand, Dubbo and Tamworth in Outback Australia, Potchefstroom and Springs in South Africa. School children would make scrapbooks for the players and present them towards the end of the tour.
