U18 Women
WALES produced a late comeback to beat England 32-24 in a thrilling opening match of the U18 Women’s Six Nations Festival at Wellington College.
Wales led early through two tries from Lily Hawkins and another from Chloe Roblin, but England hit back strongly in the second half. Lily Pereira dos Santos scored twice before Alice Fleming crossed to give England a 24-17 lead.
However, Wales responded in dramatic fashion. Megan Jones reduced the deficit before Zillah Radrodro powered over to put them ahead. Lily Foscolo then sealed
victory as Wales finished strongly to snatch an impressive win.
Connie Sanderson starred with a hat-trick as Scotland fought back from 12 points down to draw 26-26 with Italy. The winger scored twice from inside her own half, underlining her sprinting background, as Scotland showed resilience to earn a share of the spoils.
France opened their campaign in dominant fashion, thrashing Ireland 59-0. Nine different try scorers, including Chloé Legoueix and Alixe Valence, underlined their attacking depth as the defending champions secured a perfect start and early control of the group.
