Booming attendances for Premiership

Premiership Rugby revealed today that there has been a 14.2% rise in attendances year-on-year to an average of 11,950 over the first six rounds of the .
Those figures are boosted by the Saracens v Leicester Tigers clash, which took place at Wembley in Round 3 and drew a crowd of 41,063, but, even if that game is excluded, the attendances are still up 6.4% with an average crowd of 11,040.
Premiership Rugby Chief Executive Mark McCafferty said: “These are impressive figures and show that the 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs are producing a diet of rugby that supporters are enjoying in big numbers.”
Average Premiership attendances:
Average Rounds 1-6, 2012 – 11,950
Average Rounds 1-6, 2011 – 10,251
