Bemand takes reins of Ireland women

FORMER England attack coach Scott Bemand has become head coach of the Ireland women’s team. Bemand, 44, joins on a three-year deal, replacing Greg McWilliams, who left after the Six Nations. Bemand, who played scrum-half for Harlequins, Leicester and Bath, spent eight years with the England women’s side and was part of the record-breaking winning run of 30 Tests and the World Cup final defeats in 2017 and 2022.
