HINCKLEY put to bed last week’s disappointing performance against Clifton with a comfortable victory at home to Newport (Salop), despite having to play more than half of the game with only 14 men.
Newport suffered two yellow cards in the opening seven minutes of the contest – from collapsing a maul and a scrum, leading to a penalty try.
The Hinckley pack were showing the dominance that would be apparent throughout the game.
Newport managed to survive the yellowcard period without conceding.
