Coventry have signed second row George Smith ahead of next season.
The 6ft 9ins, 19st 8lbs lock joined at the start of pre-season on a trial basis from Old Redcliffians and impressed head coach Alex Rae enough to earn a permanent contract.
Rae said: “George came out of nowhere really, and after meeting him it was obvious that he is desperate to develop and grow his game and give rugby a really good crack.
“He’s a big man with physical attributes that you don’t see too often and align that with a really good attitude it will be exciting to see how he develops with us.”
