Hook: Rugby must find room for entertainers

JAMES Hook has urged rugby’s authorities to ensure the game’s great entertainers are given a platform to star in the future.
Former Wales and Lions back Hook dazzled on the field in an 81-cap Test career which saw him bring crowds to their feet with his footwork and playmaking ability. But players of that ilk are seen less today.
Rugby is now arguably dominated by defence with players far bigger and stronger than in past generations. The end result is less space on the pitch.
