Wasps centre Michele Campagnaro will join Harlequins next season.
The Italy international, capped 42 times by the Azzurri, will link up with Paul Gustard and the Quins squad after the World Cup.
The 2012 Premiership champions have overcome a slow start to their campaign to find themselves the leader of the pack chasing Exeter and Saracens in the table, with Gloucester below Harlequins in fourth spot.
Campagnaro identified the team’s transformation under Gustard as one of the driving forces in making the cross-Premiership switch.
“Joining Harlequins is a very exciting move for me and I am looking forward to the challenge,” Campagnaro told Harlequins official website.
“I was very impressed with the winning culture that Paul Gustard has created at Harlequins and I know he is building a squad capable of winning a lot of trophies.”
Campagnaro, 26, has spent the past four years playing in England having left Benetton to sign for Exeter Chiefs in 2015.
And Harlequins director of rugby Paul Gustard admitted his eye had been drawn to the centre when watching him in both Premiership and international action.
Gustard said: “I have watched Michele in recent years starring for club and country and I know he will be a great addition to our squad at Harlequins.
“We have an array of exciting talent at centre at the club and Michele will provide excellent competition for places as we look to progress and build on this season’s momentum.
“Michele is a seasoned international, a Premiership winner, who will add top level experience to our playing group. He is a fantastic talent, powerful through contact and will give us even more of an attacking threat next season.”
The news follows on from the announcement that Argentinian duo Santiago Botta and Martin Landajo will be moving to play at the Twickenham Stoop next season.
