Bye weeks help you to plan for the season says Boyd

NORTHAMPTON rugby director Chris Boyd claims player welfare concerns being peddled over the prospect of a 13-team Premiership are unfounded.
With England’s top-flight set for expansion in 2020, subject to RFU Board and RFU Council approval, the prospect of two more league games has heightened fears of player burnout which could affect the game’s top performers.
However, former Hurricanes supremo Boyd believes the introduction of ‘bye’ weeks would make a positive contribution to player welfare.
