Academy duo sign new Harlequins contract

academy players Sam Aspland-Robinson and Calum Waters have committed to the club.
Both players will remain in the Harlequins Academy under their new contracts.  Kyle Sinckler and Jack Clifford, who recently featured in champions 's campaign, themselves emerged from the academy
Harlequins Academy and Global Development Director Tony Diprose said:
“It's great news that both Calum and Sam will be continuing their development here at Harlequins. It was fantastic to see Calum scoring at on his senior debut earlier this month as a reward for his hard work this season on developing his game.
“Equally Sam has been excelling and been a stand out player for England in the U20s Six Nations. Like many success stories from the Academy, both players have bright futures and I look forward to seeing them achieve further success in a Harlequins shirt.”
20-year-old winger Aspland-Robinson joined the Elite Player Development Group (EPDG) in 2013 and played for the Club in the historic 150th Anniversary match against the Maori in November.
Away from The Stoop, Aspland-Robinson has recently enjoyed success with , securing the Grand Slam at the 2017 Six Nations and scoring in the win over U20s.
He said: “I'm delighted to be staying with the Club, the coaches have got a great vision for Harlequins and it's something I want to be a part of. I'm really looking forward to continuing to grow as a player here.”
Former Brighton College student Waters joined Harlequins in May 2015 aged 18. This season, Waters has been dual registered with in National 1 and the scrum-half recently scored on his Harlequins debut in the 24-7 defeat against Chiefs in the Anglo-Welsh Cup semi-final.
Waters added: “I'm really pleased to be re-signing with the Club. I'm looking forward to gaining more experience, making more appearances for the first team and pushing on with my development at Harlequins.”
