Bath confirm Ben Tapuai signing

Bath have confirmed the signing of Australian international centre Ben Tapuai from Western Force.
Primarily an inside centre, Tapuai, who will arrive at the Rec in the next couple of weeks, said: “I can’t wait to get over to Bath and start this next stage of my career. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the set-up there, and the way they are looking to play the game, and I’m looking forward to experiencing a different league and helping to push the Club forward.”
Director of Rugby, Todd Blackadder, added: “We’re really excited to have Ben join us. He’s a really good all-rounder, which will be a great boost for us, and the experience he has of international and Super Rugby will bring a new way of looking at things, and will really help develop our young midfield players.”
The West Country outfit have also announced the arrival on a short-term contract of scrum-half Darren Allinson from London Irish.
Blackadder added: “Darren is a strong player, and he’ll bring a fresh outlook to the squad. We’re a bit light at scrum-half due to the autumn internationals and injury, we wanted to bring someone in to the half-backs with a bit of experience, and Darren fits that bill really well.”
