Tommy Bell kicked 23 points as Leicester kicked off their Premiership season with a 28-16 win at London Irish.
Peter Betham for Leicester and Jebb Sinclair for London Irish score the two tries of the game in the first half but it was the Tigers who led 19-13 at the break after Bell kicked four penalties to Chris Noakes’ two.
Noakes’s penalty early in the second period reduced the gap for the Exiles but Bell sealed the win for Leicester with three more penalties.
