Argentina and Italy win last pool match over Namibia and Romania

Argentina ended their World Cup pool matches with a nine-try romp over Namibia ahead of their quart-final against Ireland.

The Pumas, already qualified, secured the try bonus-point before the break with tries by Juan Martin Hernandez, Matias Moroni, Horacio Agulla and Facundo Isa.

Lucas Nogueira, Matias Alemanno, Leonardo Senatore, Julian Montoya and Tomas Cubelli added further tries.

Namibia’s three tries came from Johan Tromp, JC Greyling and Eugene Jantjies.

Italy secured their place in the 2019 World Cup on the back of a 32-22 win over Romania in Exeter.

Leonardo Sarto, Edoardo Gori and Tommaso Allan scored first-half tries for the Azzurri after Florin Vlaicu’s penalty had given Romania an early lead.

Alessandro Zanni went over for Italy soon after the restart but two tries from Adrian Apostol and one from Valentin Popirlan ensured Romania ended with their spirits high.
