The recent storms that have battered the south coast of and caused severe flooding has left community’s with massive cleanup problems.
One of the worst hit areas was Chesil Beach in Dorset along runs along the Weymouth and Portland Coast. The severe storms washed up massive amounts of rubbish onto the beautiful beach and coastline, along with flooding in the Chiswell area of Portland.
Local community organisers arranged a cleanup morning on Sunday 19th January. It was decided by parents, children and Club officials from Weymouth Rugby Football Club that instead of training on the morning of 19th January the club would help in the Chesil Beach Cleanup.
In total around 80 children, parents, club coaches and officials from Weymouth Rugby Club helped volunteers from Weymouth and Portland to clean up its beautiful Chesil Coast line.
