DARREN CHILDS’ departure as Premiership Rugby chief executive came as a major shock to clubs who weren’t given any advanced warning.
Childs, who has largely been invisible in his two years in the job, is taking an advisory role with CVC Capital Partners, who played a key role in appointing him in the first place.
Blindside has been told that the Premiership’s 13 stake holders discovered Childs had left only when a Press release was sent out by email from Premiership Rugby’s PR department.
