Room 101: Northampton Saints flanker Heinrich Brüssow

Northampton Saints and South Africa back row Heinrich Brussow takes us through his pet hates from the rugby world and beyond.

Baked Beans

I can’t see why people would want to eat them, let alone ruin their breakfast by smothering them all over their bacon and eggs. I don’t like the taste, the texture or the sauce.

TRP verdict: With your name we thought you’d be an ambassador for Heinz Baked Beans! Sorry, it’s a staple food of the English diet.

Ironing isn’t my strong point it has to be said. I don’t think I have the patience to stand there for what seems like ages making sure every crease is perfect. My Mrs is pretty good though and she normally steps in and says, “just leave it to me”.

TRP verdict: Glad to help you let off some steam, it’s going in.

Wet Weather

I don’t mind the cold or snow too much but, 12 months into living here, I’m still not used to the rain although, to be fair, we’ve had a few goods days of late, so I can’t complain too much. Ironically, in Bloemfontein, where I am from, they’re experiencing a drought. Can’t we arrange for it to rain over there and not here?!

TRP verdict: It never rains but it pours, that’s two out of three.
