Peter Lydon signs new contract with Ealing Trailfinders

have confirmed star kicker Peter Lydon has signed a new contract to commit for the 2019-20 season.

The former and full-back joined the club in 2017.

His re-signing follows on from the news wing Seb Stegmann, prop Alex Lundberg and scrum-half Jordan Burns will also remain with Ealing beyond the current season.

Ealing Trailfinders director of rugby Ben Ward exclusively revealed to TRP earlier this month that contingencies were being made so the club could meet rules on stadia should they earn promotion.

Eight points behind leaders with five league matches left to play, full-back Lydon said he was happy to dedicate his future to a club on the up.

“I'm really happy to have re-signed at Ealing Trailfinders. I've really enjoyed my rugby and learned a lot in the two years I have been here and I'm really excited about the future at such an ambitious club.”

Lydon is second in the league's top points scorer charts after amassing 130 points, 17 points off 's top marksman Shane O'Leary.

Ealing boss Ben Ward added his delight at securing the services of another important member to his squad for next season.

“Pete is one of our most reliable performers and we are pleased that he will be with us for 2019-20,” Ward said.

“His goal kicking is exceptional which gives us a real threat so he will continue to be a crucial player for us moving forward.”
