If you glance westwards as we approach the Six Nations you can witness a strange phenomenon across the Irish Sea, a nation holding its collective breath.
It’s all going far too well for Ireland and Ireland rugby fans have learned to be suspicious of such joyous interludes in their history, certainly in modern times.
