Rolland must act to end this mis-use of his refs

HAVING made the crass error of allowing an assistant referee for England- Ireland, Marius van der Westhuizen, to referee an England training session – and then replace him after justifiable Irish protests –Alain Rolland should sharpen-up.
The new protocol of allowing coaches to ‘discuss’ the laws with international panel referees before matches in the interests of greater ‘understanding’ is a sham, and, as World Rugby referees manager, Rolland should call an immediate halt to it.
