Charlie Bray and Oscar Talbot set the pace for England U18s on South African tour

Jonathan Pendlebury was encouraged by England U18s’ attacking display in South Africa but says discipline and game management must improve as players progress towards Under-20s and senior rugby.

England U18s head coach Jonathan Pendlebury believes his side’s South African tour has provided invaluable preparation for the demands players could face later in their international careers.

Despite ending the series with a high-scoring defeat to South Africa, Pendlebury was encouraged by an attack that produced almost 150 points across three games.
He believes the experience of facing their all-conquering hosts on their own soil will prove hugely valuable.
“For us to come over to South Africa and, in three games, score around 150 points is outstanding,” Pendlebury told The Rugby Paper.
