CARDIFF hit back from their defeat at to ensure they remain top of the table at the business end of the season.

The 25-16 defeat for the Drovers at home made Cardiff 's home win over Bridgend all the sweeter with players away on U20 and regional duty. They also picked up a bonus point thanks to a 78th-minute try from wing Amir Saleh, who was playing on permit from WRU club Glamorgan Wanderers. The fivepoint haul puts them eight points clear of the Drovers having played one game more.

Hooker Alun Rees got the Blue & Blacks off to a flying start with a try after two minutes from a driving line-out and they added a second five minutes later from Dan Fish.

Joe Goodchild then ran in a third Cardiff try just before the break to make it 15-5 at half-time. The one score for the visitors came from former Cardiff hooker Evan Yardley.

At the start of the second half, another ex-Cardiff player, Kieran Martin, crashed over for Ravens and Luke Price's conversion cut the gap to two points. Price then added a penalty and the comeback was a possibility. It remained close until Saleh's run for glory outdid a late, late drop goal from Price.
