Rams suffer major blow in bid for promotion

Plymouth A …………28 ……………………22

A LATE try from Rams hooker Max Hayman keeps his side's slim promotion hopes alive, but they will now need a minor miracle to catch after suffering defeat at the Brickfields.

Plymouth thoroughly deserved their victory which was built on an excellent performance from the pack.

Rams took an early lead when wing Zac Clow pounced on a loose ball for a try fly- -half Fraser Honey converted from the touchline.

Plymouth soon drew level when hooker Tom Cowan-Dickie finished off a catch and drive, with fly-half Tom Putt adding the extras.

Rams regained the lead with a similar try from Hayman before Plymouth went in front for the first time when prop Ramaz Rukhadze powered over by the posts.

Putt converted and then added the extras to Plymouth's third try scored by wing Morgan Stone who went over while Rams were play ing with 13 after two yellow cards.

Rams started the second half brightly and reduced the deficit when flanker Mike Hoyt scored

Plymouth notched the tryscoring bonus when centre Archie Hills scored off a well timed pass from replacement Harry Wilkinson. Rams had the last word when Hayman got his second while Plymouth were down to 13.
