Four-try Taylor has Cinderford jubilant

Cinderford……………24

Bishop’s S…………….22

Nathan Taylor denied the visitors a comeback as he scored all four tries for Cinderford.

All the Cindy tries in the first half were identical to one another, as in true Cinderford style, three driving mauls from line-outs led to Taylor sneaking out the back and finding his way over the line. Austin converted two out of the three scores.

Stortford did, however, manage to squeeze one try into the first 40 as they found themselves with a scrum under the posts. They quickly sent the ball out to Josh Stannard, who took a dive to the line. Connor Lloyd missed the conversion, however a successfully penalty earlier meant it was 19-8 at the half-time interval.

Cinderford appeared to lose their spark in the second half as Stortford stepped up a gear. The visitors scored a beautiful try as fast balls left space for Jake Morris to sprint to the line. Lloyd adding the extras.

Alex Rayment got another five points for Stortford, with Dan Powell comfortably converting. Tensions were high during the last ten as Cinderford were back in their attacking half. After a long hard fight against a strong Stortford defence, Cindy stuck to what they know and kicked for the line, which allowed Taylor to score the winning try.
