Cambridge made it 14 games in a row unbeaten at Grantchester Road, but were pushed by Chinnor in a pulsating test, taking home two bonus points into the bargain.
It started ominously for the visitors, a try down inside three minutes as Kwaku Asiedu blazed in down the left from 40 metres out. Steff James adding the extras.
