BARNES moved to the top of the table after their 37- 15 bonus-point triumph away against Southend Saxons.
The new league leaders scored seven tries with Jon Kopra leading the way with a brace. A penalty try, Alex Hind, Alex Scott, Robbie Marley and Fraser Carlisle made up the visitors’ scorers.
Southend did score three tries of their own with Ross O’Brien, George Wood and Rom Ramsey crossing the whitewash.
Second-place Guernsey meanwhile suffered their first defeat of the season away at Dorking following a dramatic finale.
The Raiders, who had won their first four games comfortably, led with seconds remaining but a last-gasp try from Matt Noble – which he converted himself – gave the hosts a 24-20 victory.
Fraser McDonald and Cameron Pimlow also crossed for the hosts.
Westcliff’s positive start to the season also took a major blow as they blew a 10-0 lead to lose 36- 10 to Guildford at home.
A try from Euan Binneman combined with a conversion and penalty from Jack Jones had given the hosts the advantage, before the visitors fought back for a bonus-point win to move up to eleventh.
Elsewhere, Tring’s perfect start to the season came to a dramatic end as they were beaten 26-24 late on by Hertford.
David Archer crashed over at the death to give the hosts the lead for the first time and in the process secured the bonuspoint victory following scores from Michael Allan, Timothy Matthews, and Torran McDougall.
Sidcup’s perfect start to life in the league also came to an end as they lost 32-24 at home to Shelford.
Meanwhile, Sutton & Epsomcame out on the right side of a nine-try thriller, scoring five as they recorded a narrow 30- 29 bonus-point win against Westcombe Park.
Stefan Cooksammy, Andy Matthews, Angus McCurdie, Jordan Turton and Mike Schmid were the try-scorers for the hosts with Jacob Knight’s single conversion and penalty completing their tally.
And finally, Tunbridge Wellswere convincing 41- 7 winners at home to Towcestrians, Mike Doherty leading the way with two tries.
