Otley brought an end to Huddersfield's five-game winning streak in a highly-charged West Yorkshire thriller at Lockwood Park.

A try by centre Gavin Stead with minutes remaining clinched a dramatic win for the visitors, who are unbeaten since early October.

Pressure resulted in the opening try for Otley's Brett Mitchell midway through the first half, the lock-forward finding a gap in the Field defence.

Both sides traded penalties and then, just before the break, an injury to Field hooker Manny Effiom saw him stretchered off after a stoppage of 20 minutes. With the last play of the half, the hosts executed a perfect catch-and-drive for Luke Pearson to score.

Field pressed after the restart and were rewarded when Rob Jennings forced his way over. Will Milner's conversion gave them a 15- 10 advantage

The visitors regained the lead with a converted try by replacement wing Clark Wells and went further ahead when Ryan Gibson crossed. Tom Hodson hit straight back with a converted try to level.

A missed tackle allowed Stead in for the crucial try, before yellow cards for Otley's Will Nichols and Joe Rowntree, and Field's Callum Thompson.
