A FIRST-HALF barrage proved enough for Fylde to overcome Wharfedale but it wasn’t without a late scare and some defiant defending from the hosts to keep their burgeoning promotion ambitions alive.
Connor Wilkinson, Nicholas Ashcroft and a David Fairbrother double sealed the victory for the high-flying side, as Matthew Speres and Oliver Cicognini dotted down for Wharfedale to make for an exhilarating finale.
