It’s that man Sam to break hearts of stunned hosts

Wimbledon………….26

Old Albanians……..28

OLD Albanians left it until the very last play of the match to secure a thrilling victory at Wimbledon and snap their three-game losing streak.

It looked from the outset as if Albanians would run away with things, as full-back Harrison Legg won a footrace on the wing to open the scoring inside two minutes.

Oluwaseyi Ajeigbe punched in just after the quarter-hour-mark following a series of Wimbledon penalties, which was a theme of the first half for the home side.

After 31 minutes, Legg scored his second of the day, giving Albanians an imposing 17-0 lead heading into the break.

Yet Wimbledon roared back once play had restarted, with Edward Morgan and David Aniebonam touching down in the 44th and 47th minutes respectively.

Ten minutes later, Sam Jones exploited a numerical advantage on the wing to widen the gulf between

the teams once again.

Johnny Mason pulled another one back for Wimbledon in the 64th minute, who finally took the lead with a converted Tomasz Pozniak try with just two minutes of the game remaining.

Yet the visitors showed steely composure to set up a last gasp penalty kick, which man-of-thematch Jones sailed between the uprights to snatch it at the death.
